Micro Trends from NYFW Fall/Winter 2016 Collections
Pastels Trend
The world of pastel hues is an oh so refreshing micro trend for fall/winter 2016, where pops of mellow yellows or soft lavenders are the perfect antidote to any dark sad wardrobe. Take it from New York Fashion Week, where the soothing tones showed up on the runways in the form of a ice blue asymmetrical blazer by Proenza Schouler (right) and a long lace blush dress with a fur collar by Kate Spade (center). And you can also grunge up your pastels with some dark tights and fierce snow boots as seen at See by Chloe (right).
Wide Leg Pants Trend
Are you over the super-skinny jeans tread that has been overwhelming the industry for the past decade or so? We have some awesome news for you! This Fall/Winter 2016 super wide-leg pants prevail! Palazzos, gauchos, and ultra-voluminous pantaloons ruled at Opening Ceremony (left), M Missoni (center) and Jill Stuart (right).
Long Hem Lines Trend
Showcasing everything from gorgeous metallic textured fabrics to floral prints (with quite a few kick and knife pleats in between), designers warmly embraced longer skirts for cold winter days. The sheer class and sophistication will tempt you to go to new lengths (pun intended). See some of our favorites from Jason Wu (left), Carolina Herrera (center) and Lela Rose (right).
Oversized Silhouettes
Oversized Silhouettes dominated the runways of Hood by Air (center), Narciso Rodriquez (right) and DKNY (left). The weird and strange were out in full force with tough boots and pieces wrought in nylon and rubber making things appear to be made of plastic bags. Hood by Air got a lot of hype this season showing off duffle coats matched with rubber bottoms and rubber boots. If you embrace this trend you are sure to be fashionably prepared for the next apocalypse!
