A Little History
Katonah, nestled in Westchester County, New York, is a quaint hamlet exuding small-town charm. Its history dates back to the 17th century when it was inhabited by the Native American Kitchawank tribe. Later, European settlers arrived, and by the 19th century, it became a bustling community with the arrival of the New York and Harlem Railroad. The hamlet's name derives from Chief Katonah, a Native American leader who negotiated with the early European settlers. Over the years, Katonah evolved into a picturesque village known for its historic architecture, vibrant cultural scene, and proximity to nature with nearby reservoirs and parks.
