New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2019 Trend Recap
Elie Tahari | Christian Siriano | Kate Spade | Anna Sui | Proenza Schouler
The cooler temperatures of fall must have inspired many of the designers for the fall season, as moody tones on rich fabrics dominated the runway. Look out for tones of dark emerald, navy, and purple from head to toe.
The Trend: Shearling
Dennis Basso | Tory Burch | 3.1 Phillip Lim | Anna Sui | Longchamp
The 1970’s were back on many of the runways, particularly Kate Spade, Staud, and Longchamp. From billowy skirts to silk skinny scarves, the one trend that populated the runways was shearling outerwear. Shearling made an appearence on nylon jackets, vests, and of course full-length coats with furry collars. Shearling handbags were even spotted at Staud! Think bell-bottoms will come back next? We’re ready to be a dancing queen again.
The Trend: Metallics
Christian Siriano | Helmut Lang | Zimmerman | Carolina Herrera | Michael Kors
Metallics are here to stay. This once holiday staple has returned to being a go-to trend for fall. And it’s not just for evening anymore, you can grab your disco ball silver frock anytime you’re in the mood to stand out from the crowd. Wear it from head to toe, or just go for a pop with your shoes or bag! You can bring the party with you wherever you go in your metallics.
The Trend: Leopard Print
Alexander Wang | Kate Spade | Zimmerman | Zadig & Voltaire | Dennis Basso
Leopard print is staying strong into the fall season, and made even a bigger splash this past week. The edgy print was shown in playful colors to the classic brown and black tones. Leopard just isn’t for accessories anymore either, you can work it from head to toe. The spots were spotted on the runway in flirty dresses, luxe outerwear, and even bold over-the-knee boots!
