Your New Year's Fashion Resolutions
Happy New Year! There’s nothing like the brand new fresh start that comes with the new year. Now is the time to take a step forward and make some good changes! Instead of vowing that you’ll start going to the gym every morning or that you’ll stop eating an entire pint of Ben & Jerry’s every weekend, we suggest trying a new kind of New Year’s Resolutions; a fashion resolution! So let’s start our fashion resolution for 2019 by taking a peek at your closet...

Wear Color
New Yorkers are known worldwide for our love of the color black, but let’s mix it up this year and reach for a brighter hue! Don’t hide behind your basic black anymore - step out of your comfort zone a bit with some color. We recommend going for tomato red, yellow, or even hot pink. For extra bonus points, pick one shade and wear an entire monochromatic outfit of it! Still refuse to give up your all black look? May we recommend adding a colorful Hermes scarf to spice up your color palette. That bright pop of color may even help keep your winter blues at bay until spring arrives!

Try a New Trend
Another fabulous thing about a new year is that there are sure to be tons of new fashion trends to try out. From fringe, snake skin, and statement jewelry, there’s endless possibilities for you to play with. Trying out a new trend for your fashion resolution is such a fun way to mix up your style. We also recommend this if you’re currently experiencing a bit of a style rut!

Clean out your Closet
And of course, a new year is also the perfect time to take a step back and reassess your closet. This means being honest and really going through your items and getting rid of things you haven’t worn in the last year, especially if it no longer fits and you just don’t love it anymore. Once you’re done, you can reward yourself by getting some cash back by bringing all of your seasonal designer items to Michael’s to consign! Then you can buy some new clothes for the new year!
